Oil on Linen, 2023-2025

As a Plein Air artist, a visual game I play is returning to a subject, over the course of a few years and questioning what season? For this winter painting, hoping for a new snow fall, the changing morning lights all add to the possibilities. I scan to see if there's new additions, buildings or homes that can add or not to this painting. Winter air streams, those wonderful clouds bands seem to be in full abundance, but which is correct? And I wonder will the river freeze? For this artist, the varying changes in light and weather the reflections on the river, so many factors play into an artist approach to painting, and the possibility.
