Abol Bahadori
$1,700.00

State: VA
Country: United States

Dimensions: 24 x 36 x 1.5
Media: Mixed media: watercolor, ink and pigment print on water media wood panel
Artist Statement : Art is a doorway to the subconscious, and color is the key. My artistic process is a spiritual journey through the colors that occur to my eyes as composers would hear the notes in their ears. The process is spontaneous. It happens outside of the realm of self and intellect. Forms come in to represent the colors. More than an artist, I consider myself a medium to provide the observer (including myself) access to the unknown or the forgotten.

Michael Corthell
$250.00

State: MA
Country: US

Dimensions: 14 x 11 x 1
Media: Digital Capture on Metal
Artist Statement : I’ve come to realize that the very act of witnessing an object is really a profound spiritual gesture. Whether it is a blazing sunset, or a singular, fallen leaf resting on the snow, the creation process of the Universe does not seem to be entirely complete, until the object has been witnessed and acknowledged. However, witnessing is not a simple objective activity. For it involves experiencing an object through both a uniquely personal set of sensory inputs, and a lifetime of acquired constructs of imagined Reality. My art involves capturing an image with my camera, and deliberately editing that image until there is a sense of harmonic alignment with both the original object and my own personal witnessing experience. The final result (I would like to think) is a furthering of the original Universe’s creation process, and (perhaps in some small way) an expansion the object’s potentiality of Being.
Great Energy
Rita Corwin
$550.00

State: MD
Country: United States

Dimensions: 20 x 24 x 1.5
Submission Url:
Media: This is an acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas.
Artist Statement : My paintings are in the Abstract Expressionist style. I paint with emphasis on color and mood. My works are non-representational, and the designs are not planned, so each piece evolves as color and shape and assumes its own character. The viewer is then free to experience the paintings intuitively without a prescribed subject or focus. My aim is to make forms and color evocative, experiential, and capable of eliciting emotion and mood. The painting expresses the positive aspects when one has all the necessary energy to accomplish one's goals.
If The Stars Love The Trees
If The Stars Love The Trees
Wilhelmina Peace
$420.00

State: Antrim
Country: Royaume-Uni

Dimensions: 17.7 x 16 x 0.1
Media: Graphite on Kitakata paper, beeswax, mounted on Simili paper.
Artist Statement : This piece has a simple composition, made up of an outstrecthed hand seemingly balancing a dove flying downwards. Both elements are in a hazy, star studded and nebulous setting. The hand and the dove hold opposing sides of the composition and the point where they touch focuses our attention on their delicate contact. The hand and the dove appear as reflections of one another, as if, though their form is not symmetrical, their essence is. The piece is a poetic statement about our search for inner meaning. I am interested in how we can summon a sense of the sacred in the mundane gestures of the everyday. This piece seeks to distill the sense of wonder that comes upon us when we recognize the ways in which we are interconnected with the beings and things that surround us. The point of interest in the piece is that subtle space between the hand and the dove, that subtle space between "I" and "You", where reflection becomes possible and integration of one into the other can take place.

The Weight of Time
The Weight of Time
Victoria Garofolo
$125.00

State: MD
Country: US

Dimensions: 13 x 17 x 0.5
Media: Framed matte photographic paper
Artist Statement : This image symbolizes absence, isolation and the passage of time. While the old man sits unnoticed by the bustling crowd, the empty benches reflect both the physical and emotional gravity of the scene. The sharp summer light contrasts with the old man's hunched posture, emphasizing the stark reality of time's toll. With this image, I invite viewers to reflect on transience, resilience, and the often-overlooked presence of those who have witnessed life's seasons shift.

$295.00

State: CA
Country: USA

Dimensions: 16 x 20 x 1

Media: Archival Pigment 16x20 Framed Print
Artist Statement : As a trained classical violinist and bluegrass fiddler, my career as a touring musician, recording artist and educator spanned non-stop from 1960 to 2013. Starting as a teenager I have been obsessed with photography, from darkroom 21/4 x 21/4 film to today’s digital revolution. My 4 primary musical goals have always been expression, innovation, technique and composition. In applying exactly these same 4 intentions to my photography I find that musical and photographic composition are quite the same, both depend entirely on the artistic placement of available or sometimes imaginary elements. The creation of both music and photography starts before using the instrument, both start with seeing. My work seeks a sense of surprise, something new on the palette. I intend to create a more extreme idea of contrast, slightly surreal, darker shadows, bright highlights. I'm happy to stay near the border of representational and interpretive, stepping over the line a little and then coming back.
